Let’s face it. Ninety percent of your selfie depends on whether or not you are having a good hair day at the moment. While short hair is fierce and stylish, some of you may want to grow out your current hair style. If you are looking to add some length to your tresses…the NATURAL way… read on for some helpful ways to promote hair growth.
Modify your Diet: Diet may seem unrelated to your hair, but it makes a huge difference. Since hair is made of protein, ensure that you’re getting plenty of protein in your diet. Eat the food in the right balance of fat. Certain fats are essential for hair production. Fats in moderation help to maintain healthy hair and skin production.Fats will support the vitamins and minerals in your diet that are mandatory for healthy hair production, including Vitamins A, D, E, and K. Saturated fats, fatty acids, and hydrogenated fats are examples of fats that you should avoid. Omega 3 fats found in seawater and plant oils are great for luscious hair.
Make sure you’re getting enough iron and zinc: Iron and zinc, are essential in creating healthy hair. Iron is important for delivering oxygen to your cells, from the blood in your toes all the way up to your hair follicles. Zinc assists in restoring your tissues, ensuring that the oil glands are working properly.
Get enough vitamin C: A deficiency in Vitamin C deficiencies will lead to weak, dull hair that is prone to breakage. Vitamin C is also responsible for breaking down iron, another building block of hair, therefore controlling good levels of vitamin C necessary to absorb iron.
Take Biotin: It’s no secret that Biotin can help you grow longer and thicker hair. But instead of taking the tablets or gel capsules, consider a liquid biotin that your body will absorb a whole lot quicker. You will get much faster results (I buy mine from Amazon).
Choose your hair products carefully: Use the correct products when cleansing your hair. Be sure to know the texture and type of your hair and buy the hair products right for your hair type. Don’t over shampoo your hair and consider co-washing with a conditioning cleanser…especially if your hair is natural. Stay away from drying ingredients like Sulfates and Alcohol based products that will strip your hair from its natural oils.
Go to Bed!: Your body acts like a finely-tuned machine, and certain things, like sleep, can help regenerate cells and promote overall health. Getting a full night sleep of 6-8 hours a night can help to minimize stress levels…which can wreck havoc on your hair.
